Summer Fun 2013

Fall is in the air, and Summer in Alabama is officially over. It has been a strangely cool Summer, and now that it's mid September, we are just now feeling the Summer heat. Hopefully it won't last long because I am so ready for fall! We did have a pretty awesome Summer though. We were so excited when Lola's pool opened. We kicked off our Summer by spending an afternoon at her neighborhood pool, then dinner at her house where Bryson got to experience his first water gun fight and playing with a hose. It was hilarious!

To kick off Summer at school, they had an impromptu water day. (The sprinklers came on during outside time and the kids got soaked) It was so funny to watch all the kids playing in the sprinklers in their clothes. Bryson loved it!
We also had fun at Airwalk for Eli's birthday. Bryson fell asleep on the way over so it took him a while to warm up and get excited, but he loved it!

Robert went kayaking a few times and Bryson got to help Robert clean the kayaks. He had so much fun using the hose.

Robert and Bryson went on walks almost every night. A lot of times they walked to the gas station or CVS to get a treat. Once Bryson learned to ride his bike really good, he started riding his bike there. One night when they were heading out, we noticed a huge turtle sitting in the gutter across the street. We were so worried that it was going to get hurt, so we got the wagon, loaded the turtle in it, and Bryson took it to the river. He was so proud!

We even did a little mommy school this summer! Bryson loves stickers, so we worked on our letter recognition and letter sounds by matching the stickers with the letter they start with. He had so much fun. I love that he loves to learn!

We signed him up for Soccer Shots again at school this summer. I like that he gets a little bit of time outside of his class once a week. He really seemed to like it a lot in the Spring, but no so much this Summer. We signed him up for gymnastics for the fall.

Of course Lisa picked him up from school a bunch this summer. Most of their summer was spent in the pool with Eli. He loves it when he gets to spend time with them.

Bryson enjoyed sidewalk chart art with Robert and running errands with me. My favorite part of the Summer was the day me and Bryson spent together. I took a day off from work and we went and got pizza, crafts from Michael's, ice cream from Dairy Queen and went to visit Lisa. I loved having the whole day to ourselves to do whatever we wanted.

And of course more swimming.

I'm sure there's a ton more stuff that we did that I don't have pictures of because we stay so busy during the Summer. I know Bryson is sad to see all the Summer fun end, but at least Fall is filled with all kinds of fun stuff too!
I also made a few accomplishments this Summer. I was teacher of the month and I finally crossed the 50 pound weight loss mark! As of today I am down 59.4 pounds since January and I feel amazing. I am done with the B-12 shots for now, but I am going to continue the diet and taking vitamins. Hopefully more weight will fall off.
