This spring we signed Bryson up to play t-ball. We chose t-ball because he had never played before. We found out he was too old and would have to play coach pitch. After reading the rules we were ok with this. The kids get 3 pitches and if after 3 they don't hit the ball, then they can hit it off the tee. Sadly only a few 5 year olds signed up to play so there were not enough for their own league. Bryson had to play with the 6 year olds with no option to hit off a tee. I was so worried that he would get discouraged and hate it like he he did soccer. Thankfully the umpires didn't think it was fair and they made a comprimise. The 5 year olds would get 5 pitches instead of 3.
Bryson started off the season a little rocky but by the middle of the season he loved it and was doing pretty well! The night of his first hit he got the game ball and was so proud! We were also proud of him the night he made it to second base! Sadly his team never won a game but Bryson didn't care. Their coach never planned practices with the team so they never got a chance to really learn how to play. Hopefully that will be different in the fall. Bryson loved baseball so much he keeps asking when it's going to be fall so he can play again. I'm so glad that he found a sport that he loves.
