Spring 2014

We had a very busy spring. It started out with our friends having babies back to back. Jessica and Joanna were due just a day apart and both had scheduled c-sections that were planned a day apart. But princess Sophia (as Bryson calls her) had other plans and decided to come a little bit earlier, but both girls are only a week apart. Steven and Jessica had a beautiful baby girl named Sophia Grace. Carl and Joanna had a beautiful baby girl named Addison Lynne. By the end of spring, Stevens sister Michele also had a beautiful baby girl, Meghan Ann. She was a few weeks early was perfectly healthy.

Spring in Alabama means warmer weather. We had a really cold winter so most people were excited when we finally got warmer weather. Warmer weather means Bryson gets to do one of his favorite things. Go to Helena Beach! We are so thankful to live in a city that has an awesome waterfall and river to play in. There's also a playground next the river that he loves to play at.

Bryson also had his modeling debut this spring. He was part of a fashion show for a local children's boutique. He did OK at first but was over it pretty quick. He just wanted to sit with everybody that came to see him. He did look handsome in all his outfits though. Gretchen B Photography did an awesome job photographing the event.

Robert celebrated his 31st birthday this spring. Since everybody has new babies, we were a little low key with the celebrating. We ate at Cozumel for dinner and went back to our friends house and enjoyed some drinks and a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Me and Bryson also threw him a small party at our house on his actual birthday. Bryson chose a red velvet cake and two different kinds of ice cream for us to enjoy after dinner. The following weekend we ate at Cajun Steamer with Robert's family to celebrate.

Erin graduated from Pelham High School this spring! It's hard to believe she is already 18 years old and a high school graduate.

Bryson hit a pretty huge milestone this spring. He is no longer scared of the dentist! He graduated from the back of the office where all the kids that scream and cry go, to the front of the office where all the big boys and girls go. I never thought this day would come. Not only that, but he is still cavity free!

And finally, Bryson has a new obsession with everything Star Wars. It started out with a Lego Star Wars game that Eli let him borrow. Now he loves everything Star Wars and knows everything about Star Wars! One night he wanted to dress up like Darth Vader so he got a blanket, a mask, and a light saber (or light saver as he calls it) and came into the living room. It was the funniest and cutest thing ever!

Easter 2014

Easter was later than normal this year but seemed like it snuck up on us. Before we knew it, it was Easter weekend and A-Day weekend and we hadn't even dyed Easter Eggs yet or been to an egg hunt. (well there was one in Helena but the kids didn't get to take their eggs home so I won't count that, nor will we go back to that one again). Thankfully he had an egg hunt at school. The day of his egg hunt was my day to work late but thankfully another teacher offered to come into my classroom so I could go enjoy his party and egg hunt. He had a lot of fun and got all the eggs he wanted. We also skipped visiting the mall Easter Bunny and instead visited the one at Walgreen's like we did last year. They have this whole event set up. You pay a $5 donation and get a free picture with the Easter Bunny, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, a drink and a goody bag.

We waited until Friday night to dye our eggs. Bryson had so much fun helping this year.

The Easter Bunny had to make a late night stop at our house since we got in so late from A-Day. Thankfully Bryson fell asleep on the way home and stayed asleep once we got home. The Easter bunny knew how much Bryson loves Lego's and Star Wars so he left him an awesome new Spiderman basket with lots of new Lego sets and Star Wars books. He also left him a smaller basket of candy for him to enjoy.

After breakfast, we headed to church with Robert's family. It was packed, as always, but at least we found a seat this year. After church we headed to my Aunt's house to have lunch with my family. The boys always have so much fun hunting eggs together. After spending some time with my family we headed back to our side of town for dinner with Robert's family.
