2014 was a busy and fun year in the Dorsey house. We started the year off with Snowmageddon. The weather men predicted a light dusting of snow and not many people were worried. They didn't anticipate it would freeze as fast as it did and schools didn't take the warning seriously. This resulted in a lot of children having to spend the night at their schools, people having to sleep in their cars and mulitple car crashes everywhere. Thankfully Robert left Montgomery early and made it to school to pick us up so we didn't have to stay the night.
In February we threw a couple's baby shower for our friends Steven and Jessica, and Carl and Joanna. Since they were due so close together, it was easier to just get everybody together at one time to celebrate.
I have never been big into celebrating Valentine's Day but I love doing it for Bryson. I always buy him little treats to wake up to and then of course there are the parties at school.
Bryson turned 4 this year! Every year on his birthday we go somewhere just the 3 of us to celebrate. This year the day before his birthday, we went to Chuck-E-Cheese and Top it Off for yogurt before having dinner at Papa Saia's with my family. On his actual birthday we went to the zoo and Krispy Kreme before going to Joe's Italian with Robert's family. We took cupcakes to school that following Monday to celebrate with his friends. We did his birthday party the next weekend. He loves the movie Wreck it Ralph so that's the kind of party he wanted.
At the end of March, Steven and Jessica had their baby, Sophia. Bryson immediately started calling her princess Sophia and the name kind of stuck. Carl and Joanna also welcomed their baby Addison just a few days later.
During spring break, we made an impromptu day trip to Atlanta to go to the aquarium. Bryson loved it.
We took Bryson to A-Day again this year. We don't think he's quite ready to sit through and entire game so A-Day is the perfect time to take him. We love showing him the school and the city we love. This year it was the day before Easter so we had to hurry and get home so the Easter bunny could come.
We love Easter. The Walgreens by our house always has the Easter Bunny and in my opinion he is way better than the mall bunny. The Easter bunny was good to Bryson this year. He got a lot of fun new toys and of course some candy. We normally go to church with Robert's family, then eat lunch with my family so Bryson and Will can hunt Easter eggs, then have dinner with Robert's family.
Bryson was in a fashion show this year. He got a little stage fright but he still looked so cute.
Robert turned 31 this year. We did a joint celebration at Jason's Deli with him and my brother since their birthday's are so close together. Canjun Steamer is one of Robert's favorite restaurants so we ate there with his family. Bryson loves crab legs so he was happy too. Robert also took Bryson on his first overnight camping trip for his birthday. Bryson had a lot of fun. We also did a mini celebration at Steven and Jessica's house and Bryson picked out some goodies to surprise Robert when he got home from work on his birthday.
During the warmer months, Bryson did a lot of swimming, fishing, and playing outside.
Robert's niece Erin graduated from Pelham high school this year!
Brett and Michele welcomed baby #3, Meghan, in late May.
We celebrated Memorial day with a cookout with our friends.
Will turned 5 this year! He loves bowling so he had a party at the bowling alley. Bryson liked bowling, but he loved the arcade even more. After bowling, we went back to his house for cake and presents.
We went to the beach again for the 4th of July with Robert's family.
Bryson got a big boy bed! Of course he chose Star Wars sheets. Lola also got him some Lego movie sheets.
For my birthday, we went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory with my family then went to a Baron's game afterwards. It was Star Wars night so Bryson had a blast.
Bryson started Pre-K this year!
Me and Robert made it to Auburn for one game this year. It was definitley the hottest Auburn game we have ever been to.
Bryson played his first sport this fall, soccer. It didn't go so well. There wasn't really any coaching going on. Just a bunch of kids running around. Bryson didn't seem to like very much. He sure did look cute in his uniform though.
We had a fun Halloween this year. Bryson dressed as a Clone Trooper so me and Robert decided to surprise Bryson and dress up as Star Wars too. We even got Lisa to help. Her and Robert took Halloween day off and decorated a car for our schools trunk or treat. Bryson was excited and surprised to see them. We then went to Publix to trick or treat and went trick or treating in our neighborhood. My parents were able to come this year since it was on a Friday. We also found a small little pumpkin patch close to home to take him to.
Bryson went on his first field trip this year. He was so excited to ride on the bus. I'm so glad that I work at his school so I was able to go with him.
We took a road trip to NYC for Thanksgiving, stopping in Hershey PA on the way. Bryson had so much fun. This was definitely his favorite vacation. He's always talking about wanting to go back.
We rode the Polar Express.
And we ended our year with an awesome Christmas!
