Memorial day weekend is always a busy weekend filled with lots of food and fun with our family and friends. We started off the weekend with our annual cookout with Carl and his family. Every year, him and his dad BBQ into the early hours of the morning. This year we enjoyed some yummy ribs, while Carl was cooking the rest of the meat to share for the whole weekend.
We also had a cookout at Steven and Jessica's house. Steven grilled sausage, wings, chicken, and veggies. We also enjoyed some yummy desserts.
It was so nice outside so we got the slip n' slide and the pool out for the boys to play in. They had a lot of fun. I think Bryson had more fun playing with the squirt guns then playing in the pool.
May also means that Lola's pool opens! Bryson loves swimming and he has gotten so good at it this year. He will swim from one side of the pool to the other all by himself, with floaties on of course. I think next summer will be a good time to get him swim lessons so he can learn to swim without floaties.
May was also the kick off to summer fun at school starting with the ice cream truck coming every Friday! It was so fun to see what Bryson chose to get each Friday.
Finally, we also welcomed a new baby this month. Meghan Ann joined her big sister Sara and big brother Evan this month. This was also the first delivery that Michele got to keep her sweet baby in her room and not have her go to the NICU. This was also the first delivery that she got to take the baby home from the hospital when she went home. I am so happy she got to experience all of that this time around and we are so happy that beautiful Meghan is here!

Bryson's First Camping Trip
Bryson loves being outdoors. Around his birthday he started asking Robert if he could have a fishing pole and go fishing. He got a Spider-Man fishing pole and has now went fishing twice. He has loved it both times. After he got to go fishing, he started asking if he could go camping. I thought he meant he wanted to make a tent in the living room and camp out at home. Nope. He wanted to camp outside and sleep on the ground and roast marshmallows. So they did. I am not a camping fan so I let the boys do this one together. I think it was good for the two of them to enjoy something like that by themselves. The original plan was for them to go to Oak Mountain to camp. They got there around 11am but the campground was already full. We were so worried that this camping trip wouldn't happen and that Bryson would be so upset. Thankfully Tannehill was not full and it actually ended up being better than Oak Mountain. They got a camping spot right by the creek. Bryson loves being close to the water so this was the perfect spot for them. Then they grilled out hot dogs. After they ate, they went on a hike. Bryson loves to go hiking. They found all kinds of fun stuff to do there. After that, they headed back the campsite for the night. They roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. Robert said Bryson fell asleep sitting in his camping chair. Bryson slept all night long! When they woke up, they went and explored some more. I forgot that Tannehill had so much stuff for kids to do. Bryson really enjoyed his first camping trip. They haven't been back yet, but hopefully when the weather cools down they can go again.
